Styles of Xingyiquan Xingyiquan has various regional schools and styles of the art. The Xingyiquan of Shanxi is said to be especially compact and powerful; that of Henan is said to be distinguished by its vigorous and energetic nature; the Xingyi of Hebei is characterized by large movements and simplicity. The Hebei style is the one most commonly seen; both Hebei and Henan styles descend from Ji Longfeng, a Xingyi teacher of the 17th century A.D. Famous teachers of this lineage include Kuo Yun-Shen (of divine crushing fist fame), Wang Xiang Zhai, Sun Lu Tang, Wang Shu Chin, Chang Chao Tung, Li Ts'un-i, Ch'en P'an Ling, Chang Chun Feng, and Hung I Hsiang.
